I had been a hardcore Fitbit user since 2015. Summer of 2021, I had to replace my Fitbit after 2 years which was normal. 6 months later, the new one died, so I bought another to avoid the hassle of dealing with Fitbit. I told myself that if the same thing happened, I’d switch to Apple. 9 months later that Fitbit also died, so I ordered this Apple Watch. I chose this model because I wasn’t in need of a watch that could run my entire life, just something that wouldn’t die and tracked all of my exercise, sleep and health data. It does all of that as well as a million more things. I can’t wait for the day where Apple Watches can get recharged from the wearers body energy and be 100% waterproof.

The battery degraded to 80% after 4 years on my Series 5 watch. I considered just getting a new battery, but a new battery was $100 and the new watch was just over $219 during the holidays. Duh-easy choice. Battery life is now all day, and it has most of the functions of the old watch, except for EKG, and I have a Kardia for that which gives better results. Only thing I can’t figure out is that it refuses to lock. Well, maybe it’s the phone, an iPhone 13 mini, because the old Series 5 watch would not lock either. Actually, I find that very convenient, even though I know it is a security risk.

I have this watch synced with the following :TessieGoogle assistantGovee home productsMonster lighting productsGoogle nest camerasBlink camerasWatch cam appIt is absolutely seamless. I can say “hey siri, open rear trunk with Tessie “ if my hands are full with dogs/groceries.I can say “hey siri, pull up doorbell camera” using the “watch cam” app for 3$I can use google assistant to control my Govee devices by saying “hey siri, hey Google turn on bedroom lights to blue”It is an extra 2 words but not that bad ;)“Hey siri, turn on bedroom heater”I bought this mainly to be able to use my tesla (climate, frunk and trunk) without even pulling my phone out. This is next level car control.I then realized I could connect it to my house automations and it spiraled from there .The other features , to be simply described as mirroring your phone (texts calls photos music etc) is flawless. Perfectly designed and easy. I love the keyboard you draw the word and it transcribes into text, it’s very very easy. The heart rate steps etc are also great info to have . Just fun to study.I have my face set as a custom modular face incorporating :HeartbeatClock and dateGoogle nest camerasTesla controlAmazing ! Battery life gets me thru whole day with plenty to spare . Charges fast too. Easy peasy. Great purchase. Light on the wrist too.

I needed this watch mostly for work as I frequently need timers and it is convenient to put them on my watch. That and obviously it is convenient to be able to receive messages and notifications. I have become more active recently as well and the fitness apps have been great for tracking progress and heart rate.

I recently acquired the Apple Watch SE (2nd Gen) with the Starlight Aluminum Case and Starlight Sport Band, and I must say it has been a game-changer for me. As a graduate student pursuing a master’s in computer science at the University of Florida and a research assistant at the Learn Dialogue Lab, I needed a smartwatch that could seamlessly integrate into my active lifestyle, help me stay on top of my health, and even assist in my research tasks. The Apple Watch SE has exceeded my expectations in all these aspects. One of the standout features for me is the fitness and sleep tracking capabilities. With my busy schedule, it’s crucial to keep tabs on my physical activity and sleep patterns. The Apple Watch SE does an excellent job of tracking my steps, calories burned, and even encourages me to move when I’ve been sitting for too long. The sleep tracking feature has been a revelation, providing insights into the quality of my sleep and helping me make adjustments for better rest.Being a tech enthusiast and someone deeply involved in the IT sector, I appreciate the crash detection and heart rate monitoring functions. Safety is paramount, and the watch’s ability to detect a potential fall and initiate an emergency call is a reassuring feature, especially when I’m out traveling or in the middle of a research project. The heart rate monitor keeps me informed about my cardiovascular health during workouts and daily activities. As someone who loves teaching and mentoring, the Apple Watch SE also helps me manage my busy schedule. The calendar notifications and reminders keep me on track for meetings with my mentees and colleagues at the lab, which is essential for our collaborative projects, such as “Collaborative sports,” “Amby: Language model for middle schoolers,” and “Integrate AI.”Moreover, the watch seamlessly integrates with my iPhone, allowing me to respond to messages, emails, and calls without taking out my phone, which is incredibly convenient during our frequent lab meetings and while I’m on the go.In conclusion, the Apple Watch SE (2nd Gen) has become an indispensable part of my daily life. Its fitness and health-tracking features, coupled with its integration into my professional and academic activities, make it a must-have for anyone in the IT sector aiming to be a leader in future IT solutions. Whether I’m teaching React JS or exploring new states in the USA, this smartwatch has proven to be a reliable companion. Highly recommended!

Upgraded to the SE from Fitbit Versa 2 (which I really liked). If you have an iPhone this is a no brainer and works so much more seamlessly than the Fitbit did. Essentially a mini phone in your wrist. Only drawback is Battery is not as good as Fitbit. Also these do have the double tap/pinch capabilities like the new watch 9 does. Just have to setup in accessibility settings.

It motivates me to exercise more and gives me valuable insights into my health while also allowing me on the go conveniences that I need at my job – so I no longer need to carry my phone around while I’m with clients. I appreciate features like heart rate, having timers, and being able to customize the watch interface. In the photo I have a cow print case on to protect the watch, but the color of the watch is gorgeous in person too.I’m hoping that there’s a way to reorganize the order of the apps so I can put my most used ones at the top, but I haven’t figured out if that’s possible yet. Battery life is okay, not impressive but also not too shabby. To its credit, it comes with a charger and charges and charges quickly.

I recently upgraded to the Apple Watch SE (2nd Gen) [GPS 44mm] with the Silver Aluminum Case & White Sport Band, and it has been an absolute delight. The inclusion of AppleCare+ for 2 years makes this purchase even more valuable.Firstly, the design of the watch is sleek and modern. The silver aluminum case is both lightweight and durable, making it comfortable for all-day wear while also looking stylish. The white sport band is soft, breathable, and easily adjustable, perfect for my daily workouts and casual wear. The 44mm screen size is ideal for me. It’s large enough to easily read and interact with, but not so big that it feels bulky or obtrusive on my wrist. The display is bright and clear, making it effortless to check time, messages, or use apps, even in bright sunlight.Functionality-wise, the Apple Watch SE (2nd Gen) is a powerhouse. The GPS is accurate and quick to connect, which is great for my outdoor runs and hikes. The fitness tracking features are comprehensive, providing detailed insights into my workouts and overall health. The heart rate monitor and new features like the sleep tracker have been incredibly useful for keeping tabs on my wellness. The integration with my iPhone is seamless, allowing me to receive notifications, take calls, and respond to texts directly from my wrist. It’s incredibly convenient and helps me stay connected without being tethered to my phone. What sets this package apart is the AppleCare+ for 2 years. It gives me peace of mind knowing that my investment is protected against accidental damage and malfunctions. The customer service and support from Apple have always been top-notch, and this added warranty only enhances the overall value.Battery life is also commendable. It easily lasts through a day of heavy usage, and with the fast charging feature, I’m never out of action for long.In summary, the Apple Watch SE (2nd Gen) with AppleCare+ is a fantastic combination of style, functionality, and security. Whether for fitness tracking, staying connected, or just as a fashion statement, this watch is a perfect choice. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a high-quality, versatile smartwatch.
