    A Great Item, but beware of counterfeits

    I have seen a lot of people complain about receiving counterfeit Arduino boards from various sellers. I ordered one from Mp3Car Store (Amazon fulfilled) and received a genuine new-in-box board that worked great. I have been having a lot of fun messing around with my new Arduino Mega, and I have not yet run into an issue that I couldn’t find some kind of documentation or forum topic on. The Arduino website has great documentation, and this board is expandable with any number of assorted pre-made shields or any custom circuit you can design. I would recommend any DIY or electronics tinkerer looking to increase their knowledge of programmable circuitry or just wanting to mess around with some electronic designs pick up one of these Arduino boards.

    Arduino Srl (Arduino.org) Mega 2560 R3

    Arduino Srl (Arduino.org) is the manufacturer of the Arduino Mega 2560 sold by Mp3Car Store and fulfilled by Amazon. The product looks high quality and it appears to be genuinely manufactured in Italy. The reason I only gave it 4 stars is because the description does not indicate that the manufacturer is Arduino Srl (Arduino.org). As you probably know, Arduino LLC (Arduino.cc) is a different company from Arduino Srl (Arduino.org).I would have given this product a 5 star rating if the description had indicated the manufacturer.

    great board

    i needed a 100% genuine Arduino Mega 2560 for testing. every once in a while you just need a baseline for something. the board works, it does exactly what it is supposed to do, and if something works on this board and doesn’t work on a clone, i know the clone has a problem. that’s why i bought it.

    I am having to rewrite my review on this board because of what I had discovered. While the board does appear to be an Arduino it is a copy made in China. The description does not state that it is made in China or a copy. Now this may or may not give you any problems as it is a cheap board. The originals made by Arduino come from Italy and state that. I found I could not use this board as it would not accept any of the drivers offered by Arduino for their IDE. If someone has a work around it may be helpful and I also imagine that if you are using Linux there might be a work around. For some projects the cheaper knock-offs might be OK, but if you are looking for the originals you should stick with the ones made in Italy. When I compared this board with one I have purchased several years ago I noticed it had been made in Italy and works fine.

    Great board, get from Jaycon Systems.

    This board is a very great board and I’ve barely gotten past 3% of storage usage of the chip on a Low-Medium size coding.The board is a little small ( about the size of a Droid X2 Screen at 4.3″ diagonal) but that’s good because it makes the board a lot easier to use.What would of made this board a lot better would be if it had rubber feet like those that came with Ti’s MSP-EXP430G2 board so what I did is i took the feet off the MSP and put it on my arduino 🙂 .The board will come in 5 days if you order it with Jaycon.As I’m sure more sellers might try to start selling these as well.Dimensions: 4″ long and 2.5″ wide 3/8″ Tall

    Good for involved hobbyist projects

    I bought this for a DIY project and so far I have been please with how it is performing. WIth multiple signals coming it all the time for external hardware, it handles them all with ease. The hardware is fantastic, nothing surprising will happen unless you try to push the limits Arduino sets. For instance, if the input to the board is greater than 10V the location where the input comes in can become hot and the processor can become erratic, so I would suggest using only 7-9V as input to the board. The hardware and software provided by Arduino are some of the best out there as far as hobbyists equipment goes. This board is far easier to setup, use, and continue to update over time.

    Arduino.org Mega

    I got two these guys and have not run into issues so far. The board that I received is from kjdElectronics. For those saying that it is not genuine, this is an authentic arduino.org product. The company had a dispute and split into arduino.cc and arduino.org. The only difference so far is in the position of the reset button which is at the top left corner. Honestly, I found this more convenient that the other.

    The real deal: no surprises, no problems

    Buy a real Arduino you won’t regret it. The knockoffs often substitute a cheap chip to drive the USB port and that causes compatibility problems with some example code.

    Great Board

    This was a surprisingly satisfying buy. I wanted the “real” Arduino, but after reading the horror stories in the comments, I was worried about this one. This little guy arrived the day they projected it would and is in great shape. I even got an Italian one, so not (at least discernibly) the knock-off. My one star deduction was for the envelope it arrived in. I would have preferred a padded envelope, but it seems to be fine, so really, this is a nit-pick.

    It’s A “Real” Arduino

    It’s not a clone, it’s a “real” Arduino Mega 2560. It seems to work perfectly ok. I can program it using the Arduino IDE, run some sketches and it works.

    This is a genuine Mega 2560

    The media could not be loaded.

     I plan to develop sketches on the Mega using a Raspberry Pi 4 as shown in that short movie. So far, the Pi 4 support seems to be proper and I have not had any trouble.

    Uncertain pedigree.

    I’m not certain of this board’s pedigree. The picture of the top (December 2017) shows the reset button on the front, right side. However, the Arduino site shows the reset button on the centerline toward the rear. None of the cases for the Mega have the reset button in the front right. Oddly, this board has in the correct place the holes for a reset button with a label.Also, the back of the board (and the color) don’t match the Mega pictures on the Arduino site.It may be genuine, I just can’t tell (an older production run?). It fits in a Mega case and works for my application.

    There are a hundred mini arduino-style boards but the mega board is the easiest to physically interact with because it is big and durable. Also, the official Arduino boards are fully compatible with the Arduino IDE.
