This is a well constructed kettle. It heats the water very quickly and has a useful design.I use this to heat the brewing head and portafilter on a manual espresso machine. I remove the lid and place a canning funnel on top of the kettle. I place my brew head in the funnel.This works better for my needs than my name-brand electric kettle, as this kettle is able to hold a rolling boil as opposed to just holding the water a degree or two below boiling. It’s not as useful as an electronic kettle if you’re trying to hit and hold a specific temperature, but if you’re looking for a hard boil then this is perfect.I can’t speak to the usefulness of the built in thermometer as I haven’t used it. It seems a little gimmicky, but I haven’t tested it for accuracy. The rest of the kettle functions perfectly, so it gets a 5/5 from me.

I have been using this kettle every day for the past three months and it still looks like new. The whistling helps me remember that I have water boiling if i have switched my attention to chores or something else and forget that I was about to brew some tea. Super light weight yet sturdy. The thermometer at the top helps me get the right temperature for different teas

I needed a kettle that whistles loudly. I have been known to fall asleep while boiling water for tea. This kettle fits the bill. The higher the flame the louder the whistle. It is fairly large as well; good when having guests for tea. The only drawback for me is its brushed steel finish. It’s only lightly brushed so it’s still shiny. It feels sturdy and well made. The handle gets warm, but not hot enough to need a pot holder when pouring. I can confidently recommend this tea kettle.
