Great Arduino
The board comes certified Arduino built in Italy, so it is legit. The boarditselfisamazing. Compared to the bread and butter UNO R3, this board is much smaller of a profile then the UNO. The MicroUSB is so convent and nice to have. It slims down the overall profile of the board and means I now have more options for cables and so forth.The old giant ATMega is gone replaced instead by a much more robust ARM based processor. The chip itself is of the SMD tech, which you can see in they turns of the item. The board came shipped in a little box, but other then that, which isn’t about the item and more of shipping/retailer then the board.I would recommend this board as it is the same board as the UNO but half the weight and with more compatibility options. Overall fantastic purchase and I would highly recommend this product to any and all persons interested in the related fields.UPDATE:I have successfully fried this board, rather easily I might add. However! One can not downgrade the product due to user error, and for that I still think the board is amazing. Even though all my digital pins are toast, the MicroUSB connection makes it a hell of a power supply. Just use a wall wart and use the Vin pin or the 3.3V & 5V pins to power your projects. The MircoUSB alone makes the whole product worth it in my opinion. Because I have several devices that utilize the MircoUSB connection, finding a wall wart to power this thing is effortless.

This has a real crystal oscillator for the main processor
Most Arduino e.g. the UNO, make do with a ceramic resonator.The crystal you see on a UNO is for the serial interface.The Leonardo has only one processor. Timing for serial and itself is “spot on” and from the only crystal on the board. The difference in accuracy is 20 sec month vs 5 hours.If your project needs accurate timing e.g. better than 16MHz +/- 0.5% then you really need a version with a crystal. If your project needs a Shield, a crystal, and a 5V operation then this is the only option.Code compatibility is solved if you are writing your own code and use the recommended constants e.g. A0 and not 0 for an analog port. IF you need extra I/O or timers then this has more of these.The official price is also less than an Arduino so it’s a hidden gem IMHO.

Cher pour ce que c’est surtout qu’on peut trouver des cartes équivalente possédant au moins la même qualité de fabrication pour bien moins cher donc c’est surtout la marque qu’on paye.Et a ce prix là c’est indigne de vendre le matériel en l’état :- Pas de câble USB vendu avec alors que des vendeurs tiers en fournissent- Aucunes protection de la carte, elle est à même le carton sans aucunes protections et le carton est très fin sachant que c’est l’unique protection. De plus la carte est plus petite donc bouge lors de la manipulation de la boite. Les livreurs ne sont pas réputés pour être très doux.- Aucune protection électrostatique ce qui est indique d’un matériel électronique “de qualité”Première fois que je commande un matériel Arduino officiel sur Amazon. Arrivée défectueuse, elle à dû être renvoyée.Les autres cartes que je possède sont celles fabricants tiers et je n’ai jamais eu de problèmes avec.Je reste très sceptique pour l’achat de matériels estampillés “Arduino” et ne compte plus en acheter à moins que cela ne soit pas un matériel officiel mais une copie. Heureusement que c’est du open-hardware ce qui permet d’acheter chez des fabricants tiers le même produit mais moins onéreux.

A friend asked if I would automate a room-sized model railroad he wanted to build in his house, so I bought one of these to start developing code on my small test track. I’d never worked with Arduino before but have experience developing C (and Python) code, so working with this card has been super easy, and it works great for this application. My only regret is not buying a Mega instead, as even on my small setup I quickly ran out of pins.

This is one of the coolest programmable devices I’ve ever worked with
I’ve worked with a lot of firmware devices and this one was by far the easiest the work with, their software is C++ based and it plugs right in to the USB port, and just works, well, I did have to download a windows 7 driver for it, but after that, plug it in and upload the code. Even reading directly from the pins with time sensitive stuff was easy, I just set the pin to input and then scan the pin after a few microseconds until it changes states. I’m going to order more of these for some other projects.

What can I say? This is the real deal, and not one of the cheaper knock offs. If you need an genuine Arduino Leonardo (with headers), this is what you are looking for.

Like the UNO, but can act as a USB keyboard/mouse/joystick to the computer.
This is the Arudino to get if you want it to be able to act like a keyboard/mouse/joystick when plugged up to a computer. I was able to create software to read joystick style controls, then send out iCade keyboard sequences to an iPad. The standard Arduinos do not have USB “host” support, so their USB port is only a serial port. The Leonardo can be toggled in software so the USB port can appear as a keyboard to the PC/Mac.Note — this uses a different USB connector than the UNO. My desk is a mess of cables now that I need three types of USB adapters to go to my UNO, Leonardo and Teensy 2.0. Ah, standards.

Great little box, a lot of fun to play with
This thing is a lot of fun to play with and its pretty powerful, especially for the costs. It’s really well made, I have a few of them and they are built like tanks and you can tell they put a lot of attention to detail into it. A fun thing to consider is that you can use the USB out to emulate a keyboard, allowing you a lot of options when you’re looking for ways to make this interact with existing software.

Thought it would go more easy. Spent a whole day but can’t write a blink code yet. It would needs more time and research to use.Update:After replacing the usb cable to other one, it worked fine. The first one was “power supply only”, not data transfer. That’s the reason pc didn’t recognize arduinos. As I don’t like soldering, complex wiring works, it’s a good thing to me.

Made for a great project. I use Audacity as my DAW for audiobook narration. Reusing a nurse call button I was able to emulate the keystrokes I needed in Audacity for recording. Very pleased with the results.

Each Arduino has its own unique set of features while maintaining the compatibility that defines the Arduino standard. Leonardo’s strong suit, for me, is its ability to communicate with two serial IOs at the same time for a couple of bucks more than the workhorse UNO. This saves a lot of time when talking to the Arduino thru the USB port and the Arduino talking to another serial device (e.g., a XBee radio) at the same time. No more plugging and unplugging USB cables every time you want to change a line of code. WOW!

Ho scelto il Leonardo come primo Arduino quasi per caso, dato che non avevo esperienza con la piattaforma ed alla fine si è rivelato adatto ai miei scopi, perfino più del “tradizionale” UNO.+ seconda porta seriale a disposizione;+ i piedini digitali non sono connessi in parallelo al connettore ISC quindi restano più piedini disponibili quando si usano gli shield;- usa il cavetto USB micro che non è molto diffuso;- la connessione USB è un po’ instabile per le continue sconnnessioni e riconnessioni;- il chip è saldato sulla scheda per cui non si potrà usare per programmare un chip da montare poi su uno stampato standalone, che potrebbe risultare comodo per gli utenti avanzati;- ho avuto problemi nell’utilizzo di un ethernet shield w5100 non originale, devo ancora capire se dipende dal Leonardo o dallo shield difettoso.

Love this thing. All of the Arduinos are great products. This is a genuine arduino Leonardo. The pre-soldered headers are nice, although if you are decent with a soldering iron, they are 0.1″ headers, so it can be done if you already have the headers and order the version without.I have been programming microcontrollers for several years, and the Arduino is a great platform for bringing up a circuit quickly and trying out new concepts, without the fuss of creating a complicated project that is required of other traditionally microcontrollers for programming. This would make a great gift for someone who loves to play around with electronics, and even those in school looking to get started with electrical concepts.

I’m just a person interested technology, electronics and art. The Arduino extends my learning, and especially my fun, in learning. Put one of these in the hands of a kid and there is no telling what he or she will learn, or what they will build.I know the intent of these reviews is pretty much ruined by trolls and by unethical people who have a business stake for or against the product. I don’t have such stake.I regret I didn’t know about the Arduino sooner. Look it up online, then just buy it. Get a few cheap electronic parts and have fun. If its for a kid, you will love it, too, seeing where this little wonder will take them. You both will smile.

This is the first authentic Arduino I’ve bought and I’m glad I did. Copies are adequate but pin labels, silk screen, etc. are much nicer on the Italian board. I especially like the plastic half shell. Very small difference in price. Amazon orders direct from Arduino.

It is very high quality and I am very happy with it
The product shipped from MP3Car (fulfilled by Amazon) is the v4 board. The board pictured here, and on the Arduino site, is the v3 board. There is a slight paint job difference between the two. It appears to be a legitimate retail product made in Italy. Of course, it works out of the box.It also came with a little plastic tray to sit in. It is very high quality and I am very happy with it. It is vastly superior to the sticky rubber feet that come with the Arduino Uno Rev3. Overall I am very happy with the product.

Compré el Arduino Leonardo que se vendía por 14€ aproximadamente, viendo las opiniones me dio la sensación de que era el original pero me extrañaba el precio tan bajo. Mis dudas eran no eran infundadas, el Arduino es una copia. No venía ni en su paquete original ni con sus correspondientes papeles, algunas calidades se ven que no eran perfectas y el encapsulado del Atmega 32u4 no es el del Leonardo.Dicho este pero tengo que decir que la copia es magnífica, funciona como un Arduino normal y corriente y a un precio inmejorable. Estoy encantado y no le pongo las 5 estrellas por lo dicho anteriormente.PD: Tengo que recalcar que hablo del Arduino Leonardo que compré como nuevo por 14€, no de los otros que tienen precios más acordes con lo que se suele ver por ahí.

Some have posted reviews reporting fake/clone/china duinos or whatever you call them. This may absolutely be true with such a listing with as many sellers as the Arduino Leonardo. So while my experience was positive, your milage may vary.I purchased from this listing when it was (and as of today still is) being fulfilled by ‘mp3car store’. I can’t speak for the authenticity of other sellers. I did receive a genuine Leonardo, with headers, exhibiting none of the counterfeit signs detailed here:http://arduino.cc/en/Products/CounterfeitMy initial usage of the board is working great. I won’t go into details about why its great or why to buy it vs the other Arduino models. Other reviews detail that much better than I could, but if you are here and know you want a Leonardo, you should know that I received a genuine one, and it works splendidly.

This is my first micro controller and I have been enjoying this a lot. I felt lucky getting the leonardo over the uno since it has more analog ports (I need it for my project) and my project happen to only work with arduinos that has micro usb with it. Overall really satisfied, product quality is great.

Easy to use.If you are having trouble, for example the device is not being recognized by windows.. Make sure you’ve got a USD cable that does DATA. Only 1 of 4 USB cables I tried has data support.

It was a super fun project and the fact someone already had coding built for the button mapping made things that much easier!I will be excited to make more projects and potentially swap, or maybe just buy more of these. This is an excellent Arduino Leonardo with Headers. I bought two of them for my robot projects. I’m glad I found them because they are hard to get. I had some old robot projects that required the Leonardo. So, I’m very happy to get them at this low price. I inspected both of them very carefully. They were in perfect condition.

Arduino Leonardo with Headers
I gave this arduino three (3) stars because I also bought some that were non-brand that worked just as well (if not better) and didn’t have such a high price tag. These seemed to have a problem with some of the PCs I was working with. It’s good thing I had Windows 10 and not just Ubuntu for programming, otherwise I would have been out of luck for it to work.

Nice update for a duemilanove
I bought this so I could create a macro keyboard (this board appears as a HID to the computer it is attached to). Had it up and running within an hour. Especially liked the dedicated SCL and SDA pins. One thing to be careful of is resetting the board, will result in a new com port assignment – making loading a sketch a little more difficult until you get used to this.

Good, but…
This device completely met my expectations… Only thing I would complain about is the shipping time, but I think that would be due to the weather at the time. Only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the headers were soldered on crooked (about 70 degree angle instead of 90) and that’s a little annoying, but other than that it’s perfectly what I expected.

The arduino leonardo I got was sealed in it’s packaging, all expected documents etc were there. The board took a little work to configure, as it had an older version of the boot loader – or maybe it’s just windows 8.1 and I don’t know 100% what I’m doing right? Either way, the board works, it got here fast, the price was decent, comparable to other sites etc. Beats buying it at radioshack for a markup!

So far it has behaved like my DUO when i select the board type to leonardo from the program. Runs all my code and shields the same way so far. Just about what you want to use to interface with your PC i guess. Came in Italian retail packing. Got stickers and a great working board. can handle some high heat devices like adafruit’s neopixel shield with just 9V barrel plugged in. Gets real hot itself though too.

Can’t beat the price
This board is great given the form factor. I like having the surface mount ATMEL chip given the low profile. In my experience the Arduino is a tough little board. I have never had to replace the ATMEL chip so the socket was not a feature I required. Also given the mini USB connector is a plus. All of the other boards I have use this size of connector.

Infinite possibilities with only the mind to limit what can be done. Can I make a robot mow my lawn? Wash my car? protect my house? Heck ya! Feed the dog, pick up the !@@#4%^ from the dog! Write code and learn. Stretch the gray matter. Start a project with your kid and make it a bonding memory. If a flunky old truck driver like myself can do it, who can’t? Someone worked very hard to make this controller format simple.
