4.75 starsThis book was everything I expected it to be and more.It made me feel happy and hopeful.I love Annabel Monaghan writing because I get lost in the story and I get to relate to the characters so easily it makes me feel like I’m part of the story too.Wyatt is definitely book boyfriend material (l love him!) He was sweet and supportive without being overbearing or possessive. He gave Sam time to think and to grow. I also love how he was upfront and apologized when he made mistakes. Now our beautiful and amazing heroine, Sam. I love to see her grow and learn from her mistakes and be able to relate to her and cheer for her (because you feel you’re now cheering for yourself too?) Ugh so good!Again, I’m not going to give spoilers about what happens, but l’m asking you toplease read this book when it comes out in June because it’s amazing. If youwant sweet and fun friends to lovers, second chance romance with tons ofswooney moments (and very little to no smut sorry! (Still, you should give it achance, tho)) This is definitely for you.

Sam and Wyatt fell in love as teenagers, an idyllic time until it wasn’t; fourteen years later, she returns to the beach where they spent their summers, only now she is engaged to someone else, only to find out that Wyatt is there, too. This is a very touching love story, but it’s so much more, because during that time span Sam coped with heartache by becoming someone different. Bringing her fiancé to the place where she found love and also brought her heartache has her questioning her life choices. This book is a journey of self-discovery for Samantha, a way to find a path back to her authentic self. I loved spending time at the beach with Sam, both in the flashbacks as a teenager, and in the present day. I was glad the author gave us the glimpses back to when she was young, to understand who she really was and could be again. I also loved Wyatt, who dealt with heartache in his own way, and is so much more than he appears to be on the surface.

This book brought me back to enjoying reading. I loved Sam & Wyatt. It reminded me of being 16 & in love with a boy that broke my heart at the beach. My story ended with finding my true love.Same Time Next Summer left me wanting more of the young couple. I will read the next book & hope for a happy ending.

Instant new favorite and one I will definitely be coming back to time and again. Childhood friends to lovers just hits different and gets me all in my feels. I pretty much read this book in one sitting. It’s the perfect summer beach read!I loved the roller coaster ride of emotions that Sam and Wyatt took me on. Getting to experience them growing up together each summer and falling in love made my heart burst! I couldn’t have imagined what would tear them apart and it broke my heart. It was interesting to see how their breakup influenced the people they became especially Sam. I really enjoyed her growth as a character and how she slowly uncovered the uninhibited, carefree person she truly was at heart. Wyatt is the stuff book boyfriend dreams are made of. To me it was always clear that he was a goner for Sam! I highly recommend this super comforting, angsty read!Thank you to Putnam for an advanced copy. My thoughts are my own.

What a feel good, finding yourself, wacky family, escape from being stifled, rekindled first love joy this book was. I think I smiled for the entirety of reading this book, which wasn’t ling, because I flew through it. I liked the dual timeline, dual perspective approach to this book and I absolutely adored the quirky dynamics of Sam’s family and the sweetness of Wyatt’s embracing of that quirkiness. And man oh man, what a turd Jack was … I appreciated that he wasn’t an intentional villain but more just a dud. All around fabulous beach (or anywhere) read
