This book was probably the best book I’ve read in years. It’s been awhile since a book had me guessing until the very last page. Mind blowing. Quick pace. Just when you think you have it figured out… bam! something else happens!

I thought I was right at several points. But honestly I only got pieces correct. At times everyone seems suspicious. I never would have suspected the truth.I guess Josh is like his dad more than Brooke thinks.

Excellent read! I couldn’t put it down. Thought I had it figured out a couple times, but the end still surprised me. Definitely a white-knuckle page turner…. All the way to the end. A must read!

I’ve seen a few reviews of people saying this was very predictable. But for me at least… IT WAS NOT ! I absolutely loved this book. Right when I thought I knew it just kept getting better and better.

First book I had read in several years and it was an excellent book. Had a hard time putting it down where I was hooked. A lot of twists and I thought I knew how it was going to end but I was wrong, was not left disappointed.

I have read many of Frieda’s books and this one is definitely in my top 3! I read this book in less than 24 hours because I felt the need to pick it up whenever I had free time. There are many twists to this story and at the epilogue made my mouth drop! This is a must read if you love Frieda!

When I was deciding what to read, this was my second choice. The first choice wasn’t very good and I hoped this would be at least a little better. However, this is hands-down, no-joke, seriously the best book I have read in ages! I liked the characters, suspense, trying to figure it out while reading, the twists. I don’t want to be specific because I would surely say too much. If you are thinking about reading this book, then you owe it to yourself to do so. You are welcome. I know you will love it.

This was another great read from the author (F. McFadden)! I didn’t know what to expect in this book and she didn’t disappoint. A great “Whodunnit”.PLOT: Brooke returned home, after the death of her estranged parents. She always wanted to come home, but at the behest of her parents, she didn’t. She finally came home, along with her 10 year old son (Josh).Brooke grew up next door to Tim and they were the best of friends. 11 years ago, something terrible happened that landed Brooke’s boyfriend (Shane), in jail.Upon Brooke’s return home, she applied for various nursing positions and was turned down, at every turn. She couldn’t figure out why. So, her only option was to accept a position at a men’s penitentiary. And it just happens to be the same men’s penitentiary that her ex-boyfriend (Shane) is housed in.Brooke takes working there in stride and does the best she can with each inmate / patient. However, a certain supervisor (Dorothy) and a certain Officer (Marcus), make it extremely difficult.Brooke is also faced with numerous discrepancies that happened 11 years ago and with Shane and Tim contradicting each other, it doesn’t help. Who should she believe???

I’m just now getting into Freida’s books and I now understand the hype. From the very beginning it draws you in and doesn’t let go till the end. Right when I thought I knew what was going on here comes another twist. After Brook’s parents die in an accident she moved back to her hometown with her 10 year old son. Wanting to give her son a real home and a fresh start. When she gets a job at the prison where the man she helped convict is serving a life sentence. She starts to question everything including her own memory and intuition. Right when you think you know what’s happening, you don’t. I really enjoyed this.

I consumed this book in one setting. I have no regrets in the fact that I ignored all my responsibilities to do so.Another Freida McFadden Gem! I love the introductions to her stories; they always suck me right in. I like how Freida McFadden creates such different characters and how they all have different backgrounds and careers.Anywho…. :)This story follows Brooke, a NP who takes a job at a maximum-security prison, Raker Penitentiary. The same prison her ex (Shane) is serving a life sentence at for MURDER!Of course, Brooke can’t let anyone know that. She tries to abide by the rules. She tries to hide the fact that she knows him.She also tries to hide other things from him, one being very important. But, good ‘ol Shane boy has plans of his own. This story takes you on a wild ride with one heck of a twist! Actually, two hecks of a twist! Hold on tight!
