DIY Robotic Car Kits
How did we get our start?
- Chris, the founder of ELEGOO, found out that most enterprises in the STEM industry focused on the hardware of open-source electronics and did not have tools to create a complete product by combining electronic hardware and structural shells.
What makes our products unique?
- We have excellent R&D team, constantly upgrading and improving products, and after-sales service team for quick support.
What problem are we solving?
- 100% compatible with Arduino, ELEGOO’s kits are best-practice for beginners who have no appropriate technical tools to learn about electronics.

Great Project Kit for using with several YouTube Tutorials for the Arduino
Being mostly a hardware EE focused on Analog, Power and Mixed Signal, this is a great way to play and learn some uC software and make things that are fun. I have been going through the Paul McWhorter Tutorials on YouTube and he explains things very well. About half of the tutorials try to teach basic electronics are seem good since they are very basic like Sophomore Level. The IDE environment makes getting the Arduino working even makes the programming simple and straight forward.

This is litteraly the best kit ever!!!
It comes with everything you will need including the a CD with all the lessons to learn how to used every component. Lol if you don’t know what a CD is you can always download all the documents and code from their website. It’s super easy 🙂

Nice pack of generic components
First off, the components included are not very high quality. That being said, I just recieved the second kit I ordered. The R3 itself, feels solid. Nice solder points, quality board, the quality statement was not written about the board. The breadboard on the other hand feels very cheap. The resistors are nicely seperated, but quality was not their strong point. None of these components are top of the line, but that’s the reason all of this can be sold for this cheap. It’s an amazing assortment for someone getting into arduino/getting back into electronics without having to hunt out a bunch of random parts. After I played with the first kit, I bought a second for an extra R3 and more parts. No regrets. Great for prototyping, great for tinkering. The instruction manual it comes with was kind of a let down at the beginning, the first few pages tell you what you’re doing, then suddenly drops into “copy the given code into the IDE, set up your breadboard like this, and you’re done”. I guess I was expecting teaching the whole way through, but you can’t walk around the Internet without tripping over PDFs teaching arduino programming and analog circuits if you’re into this sort of thing. And the manual is nice for when you just need a quick setup because you don’t know how a specific part works.I’d recommend this unless you already have a bunch of parts already laying around. If/when I need another arduino like item, I might even get one more of these.

Fantastic Ardruino R3 kit!
Purchased for my husband, Chris, so he’ll do the review:Hi, Chris here 😉 I love this kit. More importantly, students love this kit. So many quality components in a well organized, yet compact case (with a small case inside for smaller parts). Many thanks for selecting metal film resistors in taped packaging, by the way(!). The Arduino UNO R3 unit features printed headers and board, with high quality, fully compatible build. A solid value, made even better with the free LED offer (and occasional discount codes – check Amazon’s coupon offers, and Elegoo’s social media).Elegoo support is friendly and eager to ensure you have a satisfied experience. Some minor shortcomings. Some of the test jumpers ends were bent, and there could definitely be a few more longer jumper wires (grab their Elegoo EL-CP-004 120pcs Multicolored Dupont Wire kit and split off as needed). The header printing did an admirable job versus sweaty hands, but eventually most printing vanished (board is printed though). The book and projects are surprisingly good. Lesson 27, 74HC595 and 7 Segment Display, is missing a ground jumper on pin 8 of the 74HC595 of the Wiring Diagram (it’s in the schematic and example). Probably fine, but thought I would point it out since a student and I noticed it when checking our wiring back to the schematic.Oh, I would also grab the Elegoo EL-CB-003 MEGA 2560, or get that kit (Elegoo EL-KIT-008 Mega 2560 Project The Most Complete Ultimate Starter Kit). You may eventually want more IO ports and memory, that the MEGA 2560 provides.

Good kit, but maybe not for kids
Came as advertised, all the pieces were intact and well organized in a divided tray type package. There was a listing on the inside of the package that identified each item but not where each item was in the package, the pictures were good enough that you could identify each item. The CD had the required libraries for the projects but the instructions were not the best, but I have more fun figuring stuff out myself rather than following detailed directions. I have many years in electronics and some programming experience but this is my first experience with the Arduino micro-controller and I am impressed. This is a “clone” Arduino and not a “true” Arduino from the designer, but since the Arduino is advertised as “open source” I wasn’t too concerned about that. I don’t think this is the kit for someone young or with no electronics background but with some internet research you can do a lot of cool stuff with this kit. The breadboard is not the highest quality, but that may be the sign of the way things are now, I have a 20 year old breadboard that is a lot better, but reading reviews it appears the quality of all breadboard has declined. I would suggest this to anyone with some electronics background that is willing to do some research and experimentation. You will need a computer or laptop to program the Arduino, this kit does not teach C++ programming, but there are lots of tutorials online to help once you want to go beyond the “projects” that are included. If you get this invest in a book to help with the programming or spend lots of time online.

Great Kit, they need to remove “Mega 2560” from the the title in the Amazon listing.
This is a great kit for money. I’m pretty knowledgeable in electronics and Arduinos(in fact, I have my own business where I sell them and offer programming services), and I got this for my pre-teen boys to have “stuff of their own” to get started with. The “package” and presentation is really the value added here. The manual is pretty good, with better-than-average-for-electronics English, and comes with a few dozen example projects to get you started. The manual goes over the code for each example and explains what it does, often line-by-line, and it also shows drawings and photos of assembled circuits for many if not all of the examples, so it really is a good starter kit. A lot of the example projects have a narrow focus as well, so you can learn about one aspect at a time, you then then experiment on your own with ideas about how to use combinations of the parts together. Examples that try to include everything but the kitchen sink don’t tend to work as well for learning/teaching because there are too many new concept introduced at the same time.So far, my kids love it.My only beef, and this is something I spotted before purchasing so it was not a surprise, is that the title includes “Mega2560” which could lead one to believe this kit includes an “Arduino Mega2560”, which is does not, it includes the less capable (but still complete adequate for beginner) “Arduino Uno”. You can purchase a variant of this kit that included the higher end Arduino for a few bucks more. You could also purchase an Arduino Mega separately, and almost everything in this kit should work with it.

Overall I like the product
Overall I like the product. There are a couple of things that I disliked (and may even drop the review down lower as we get further into the projects).1) At first the projects were pretty straight forward. For someone who is in the computer industry it was relatively easy, but I as I handed it off to my son, it took a little working through. The instructions are not always clear. As we move through the projects, the steps to build the electronics are lacking. While they say pictures say 1000 words, these are somewhat complicated so it can be difficult to know which pin to connect to or which hole on the bread board to use.2) The resistors are slightly confusing. It is hard to read the colors and if you are not familiar with the two ways resistors are read, you can get confused. I know they labelled some masking tape that was attached to it to tell you what they are, but after they are used, you have to keep them together or you could forget which one is which and mix them up.3) Some of the explanations of the components are lacking. For example the use of the 74HC595 was confusing for my son to understand but after discussion it was somewhat understandable (you just need to know what it does). The projects however are really cool. My 13 year old works through them with some assistance from me and at the end he says “cool”. The code is all pre-written. I would have like the instructions have people write it out and then have the code as a “final comparison” vs asking users just to open the code. The code should also be commented. There isn’t a lot of code comments.

I’ve really enjoyed this kit!
This was a nice starter kit- I was leary to go with anything but the official arduino kit, but that one was $65, and this one was on sale for $43. Plus this one came with more sensors, an AC power adaptor, and a nice plastic multi compartment box for storing everything. The arduino clone board works perfectly, and worked with the Arduino IDE without needing drivers on my mac. (note: you do have to select the port in the IDE)I’ve not used everything in the kit yet but there was enough to get me going. If I had one complaint, it would be that the PIR sensor module seemed unusable – the pins aren’t labeled, and I couldn’t get it to accurately sense motion. If you’re building a motion sensing project, I can highly recommend the $13 parallax PIR module.Overall this was a great starter kit and I suspect I’ll be buying more Elegoo products.SPECIAL NOTE: This is a ‘clone’ of the Arduino Uno Rev3 – that’s legally ok, since Arduino stuff is all open source and free to copy.HOWEVER – The Arduino organization is responsible for the design of this and future boards, and also of the software used to program it.When you buy an “official” Arduino product, you’re helping to fund further development of the platform.Since I bought this ‘clone’ board, I donated to the official project (It’s easy to do this, they ask you when you go to download the software)I feel this is a win-win – I got a great starter kit at a great price, but still helped the official organization that creates the reference design and IDE.Please consider doing the same!

It’ll make your brain hurt at first….
Ok, before I bought this kit, I knew NOTHING about coding. Seriously, I didn’t. But after doing some reading, going through step by step instructions, and sacrificing about several straight months into learning this stuff, I now have a somewhat decent grip on this! This is a great kit for beginners! True, it’s gonna take a lot of practice and patience (and DEFINITELY a lot of trial and error), but in the end, it’s ALL worth it!

great set for learning arduino
Really nice kit for learning Arduino. Some of the docs are outdated but it still runs OK. Some of the software installation docs were written before windows 10 so easier now on windows 10 but a beginner may feel nervous getting it to work. But really nice to make the LED blink at different rate. Will try more labs later…Nice part storage box and parts seem to be good quality..

Amazing Kit for Learning Arduino
I’m writing this as someone who has never used an Arduino before and this kit contains everything a person new to Arduino could ever ask for! The plethora of sensors and modules kept me entertained ever since I’ve received my kit and I highly recommend this to anyone ambitious enough to learn something new. Note I say “ambitious” since the provided lessons are more or less just demos to what’s in the kit and proper research is required for a deeper understanding of what exactly your doing. If you really want to learn how to use the Arduino and its IDE there are lots of videos and websites that likely already have a solution to whatever issues or questions you may have. There were however minor issues with the kit that I can easily overlook, but I thought I should still point them out:- The kit comes with a relay that isn’t attached to a PCB and because of that it doesn’t exactly fit on the bread board. This wouldn’t have been a huge issue since I thought I could use the wires with female headers, but the pins on the relay are too short and thin for a secure connection. However, what I found entertaining was that the lessons provided recommended that I bend one of the pins of the relay in order to use it with the breadboard. I did exactly that and the relay did fit on the breadboard, but it now also has a crooked pin.- This is most likely a issue with my package, but the case came with a small crack on on of the corners of the lid. This might be due to shipping, but none of the components seemed to be damaged so I guess the case did its job protecting the items.- The included jumper wires aren’t the best quality and as when I’m writing this review I’ve broken the tips of 3 wires already. However they do their job of being wires just fine and I can always get replacements or just use actual wires with the ends striped off.- The included 9V battery actually contains lead which is actually considered hazardous waste so it’ll be inconvenient when I need to properly dispose of it.Overall this is a great kit to start learning and experimenting with an Arduino and the amount of things you get is definitely worth the price. If Elegoo does decide to refresh this kit I would recommend replacing the included disk with something such as a USB flash drive since most modern computers no longer come with a DVD drive (Note: the lessons, documentation, and libraries for this kit is available for download on Elegoo’s website which is what I used).

Great to learn electronics with free YouTube tutorials
No issues so far. Easy set up and all components work great. I have been using the YouTube series by Paul McWhorter to learn the basics of electronics, with this kit. His tutorials are great, I strongly recommend. This kit includes all the components he uses in his videos.I have not used the pdf provided with the kit yet, but when glancing at it, it seems decent.

Great Customer Service
I am an absolute beginner so I purchased this kit on reviews alone and do not have enough experience to review the product. This is a review on their customer service. After going through the first couple tutorials, I skipped around to see what kind of projects are included and noticed a piece called the All in One Sensor Shield was not included in this kit. After reaching out to Elegoo to see if I could order one, they said they would send me one free of charge so I can complete all the tutorials. Amazing customer service! I hope to learn more and give this product a full review, but will continue being an Elegoo customer.

Well curated, quality UNO kit.
I received my kit quickly and in perfect condition. I had read other reviews describing the kit as well organized and neatly arranged, and I must say this is true. The power supply board that mounts neatly on the breadboard is very cool (you can wire the +5v rail into your UNO); that coupled with the 9v battery adapter, USB cable, and DC power adapter makes 4 options for powering your Arduino! This kit is well thought out, and lots of fun to run through all of the experiments. I highly recommend this kit! Whether this would be your first UNO (as it was for me), or if you need a boatload of sensors and parts… get this kit.A note on Elegoo’s customer service/support. I did have an issue with the UNO itself, where it failed not too long after I received it. These things happen, and I do not fault Elegoo for the failure as it would have passed all QA tests when leaving the factory. Their support was fast and surprisingly friendly. A replacement board was sent to me after answering a few basic troubleshooting questions. Overall my impression was of a Chinese startup (as was stated on their site) with some cool staff excited about their products. I’m very happy with this product and would buy it again in a heartbeat.

Worst Breadboard ever.
It’s a decent kit but the worst breadboard I’ve ever used in 30 years of being in the hobby. A very stiff pin is easy to work with, but will go into different holes with varying degrees of difficulty. However resistor leads are very soft and always bend before slipping into the hole deep enough to grab. Frequently using needle nose pliers to push in components. And once you get a lead in there, it might not come out easily. Luckily I have other bb’s in my parts box.

This is everything you need in one box to get started with Arduino.
This Kit has everything you could ask for in one package. Mine came with the CD that includes source code, libraries, tutorial PDF and includes arduino software (it was outdated and I got the newest version from the official Arduino website). Also included was an acrylic plate to mount the board, but only 3 mounts points line up and this was no problem given the fact the it protects the underside and provides stability; it also leaves room to mount a mini 30 row solder-less breadboard next beside it. I haven’t gotten fully into testing and using all the components, but just by looking at all the parts and the package as a whole, I don’t think i will be let down. I have skimmed through the PDF and it provides clear pictures of setting up projects and explains the Sketch software Interface and explains the code and how it works. The board is a Chinese clone and don’t see any flaws, looks exactly as the official board without the hefty price. I’m including pictures that show what this kit looks like after you open the amazon box and how i set up the box (this also includes all my previous parts from a “Sunfounder Super Kit V2.0 for Raspberry PI” (btw do not purchase anything from SunFounder as it a box of random parts horrible documentation and ABSOLUTELY NO EXPLANATION TO THE CODE THEY PROVIDE. HORRIBLE!!).I will write a follow up review after testing and using the components.

Impressed!
First things first. I was NOT given a discount or free product for my review. This is my opinion plain and simple.Second I’m pretty much a noob to the Arduino world. So take my opinion for what it’s worth.I am impressed with this kit and very happy with my purchase. Everything came in good order and so far is functional. Now I haven’t tried every single piece of the kit but I’ve experimented with a lot of it. My kids and I had a blast connecting the various sensors up to it and watching them work. I will definitely consider Elego for future purchases.I did have an issue getting the Uno board to communicate with the computer at first. It just wouldn’t talk. I realized that I already had the Arduino SW installed for another board and thought I would uninstall that version and install the one from Elego. I did that and voila it worked perfect.Oh yeah one more thing that wasn’t exactly perfect….. One hole on the acrylic board that the Uno mounts to doesn’t line up perfectly. So I’ve got three of the four screws holding it down. To me that’s not a huge deal and only mention it because some people care more about those things than I do. It is not enough for me to mark them down a star.If I run across any issues I will come back and update my rating. But for now I highly recommend the kit.

More than what I expected, Inexpensive, Very Very Educational.
This kit is a GREAT and inexpensive alternative to buying an expensive arduino kit. Any one who is interested in learning about micro controllers and how they work should get this kit.The product comes with a CD which has PDF lessons, libraries and code. There are some issues with the PDF tutorials. I just don’t want beginners to get discouraged if the programs are not working properly. If you have a problem, go online, and find a solution pretending what you got in your hand is a Arduino Uno, not a Elegoo Uno. The programs, code, projects are all similar. It always worked for me. I have found some issues with lesson 32, and would like to give people some feedback.Lesson 32 Issues:There is a arduino file named “With_Remote” in the Lesson 32 folder. When the comments on the code say // Rotate CW it really means Rotate Counter Clockwise. When the comments on the code say // Rotate CCW it really means Rotate Clockwise. Also, in order for the project to work the way it is supposed to, you will need to push the “VOL+” and “VOL-” buttons on the remote control. (There are no UP and DOWN buttons on the remote control , as mentioned in the code comments.)Lastly, if you are getting a “‘TKD2’ was not declared” compiler error ( you will know what i mean when you see it ) ,you will need to go to C Drive > x86 > Arduino > libraries > RobotIRremote > src. After clicking on the folder named src you will see 2 files named IRremoteTools.cpp and IRremoteTools.h. Cut these 2 files and paste them somewhere else ( on your desktop for example). These files conflict with other files in the Arduino library and dont let Lesson 32 work the way it is meant to work. Just dont delete them permanently!! You might need them later.I will post more updates on the kit as time passes.

Great Starter Kit
I started an online course in Arduino and purchased this because of the price and the boat load of the electronics needed for the course. I didn’t expect this kit to build a robot or a permanent device, but to give me a broad overall start which ever way I end-up going. Halfway through the course and I only needed one sensor not in the package. Looking ahead, everything else is covered with extra parts not even used. The whole kit comes in a nice, clear plastic case. All the components are well put together and I haven’t had to solder anything for them to work. The bread board is huge compared to what is used in the online course. There are extra LEDs and resistors which are the most common items that I have used in multiple course projects. There are at least two of most of the small bits and they are in their own smaller case that fits in the larger, which is nice. With so much in the case it isn’t always easy to find a particular sensor or to get everything back in. There is a insert in the lid that lists the parts with a picture to identify it.I did check the CD and my copy had all the source code, IDE, and sensor libraries. No searching the internet to find those. In 15 minutes of opening the case, I had blinking LEDs with my first project. The main Arduino board is 3/4 the size of a deck of cards and seems to work like a champ. Everything is clearly marked on it and plugs are tight. So far this has been a great starter kit for me and my son is right behind me waiting his turn with it.

Really fun kit
I recently purchased this for myself because I got interested in this after watching some youtube videos. I had a lot of fun going though the tutorial that came with it, although I did have an issue with one of the lessons and am waiting on a reply from support. I’ll modify this later when I get a response to rate the support as well.I have a few minor complaints:1. The battery it came with was half dead. Not a big deal as a 9 volt battery isn’t expensive.2. I would have liked is if the tutorials explained in more detail how some of the components are controlled instead of relying on libraries (which don’t explain it either). Links to specifications for the components would have been nice.3. The relay doesn’t fit right in the breadboard without bending most of the pins. I’m worried they will eventually break. After going through the entire tutorials, I found that I had a defective UNO board. Elegoo, after sending them some videos, sent me a replacement UNO board. It took over 2 months for the replacement to arrive. I don’t blame Elegoo for that with what’s going on in the world and it did ship from China. However, the replacement didn’t fix the problem. So far their support has been very good.

Excellent Starter Kit and Amazing Customer Service
I ordered the Elegoo Most Complete Starter Kit UNO R3 Kit recently and received it two days before the scheduled arrival date. Upon opening it, I saw a nice box organized neatly and easy to access all the parts. It included all the sensors, modules, etc. and the build quality of these parts was AMAZING. It came with the CD that had all the information necessary to get started but since my computer no longer has a DVD/CD reader I easily downloaded both the IDE and Guide online on the Elegoo/Arduino website. I am very glad it was compatible with Mac since many programs are only offered to PC but this one was available with my OS and it’s even available to Linux. My only problem with this kit was that the box came cracked, a trade-off with the early arrival date. I contacted Elegoo and they replied the day after. I explained my situation and they provided me a replacement box for FREE. Their service was quick, easy to communicate with and very helpful. I definitely recommend this product for anyone trying to get started or further develop their programming skills and electronic circuit skills during this quarantine, it certainly has been keeping me busy and the guides provided, explain everything I need to know such as how to program, what each sensor does and their datasheets. Any question I had I could easily go on the Elegoo website or Arduino website to answer any question I had.

Bread board quality is ?able.
Other than that it seems good. I haven’t used much of it yet.

Amazing, especially for the price
Really an astounding variety of devices – particularly for the price – for learning about Arduino and playing with it. Have tried about half so far. No problems. The little demo sketches are helpful starting points.

Good to get started!
It has everything you need and more. Very generous with the amount of the more basic components you get.Plenty of YouTube tutorials to start learning!

Included USB Cable caused issues – Updated review
Based on the excellent customer support I received to address the USB cable issue I originally encountered, I’m updating my original review from a 1-star review (due to the cable issue below), to a 5-star review. Their customer support was excellent. They contacted me and quickly sent two new USB cables and a new Arduino board (in case the issue was with the USB connection on the board). It’s nice to work with a company that stands by their products and works with you to resolve issues.Original Review:When I connected the UNO using the USB cable that came with the kit, my computers could not upload to it (however, the lights on the board lit up). I tried from multiple computers (a Mac and a PC) and both resulted in errors . However, when I used a USB cable I had lying around, uploading worked from both computers. It took me hours to figure this out since the error was nothing close to “the USB cable is defective” and the UNO’s lights were lit. Very poor first impressions of the kit.

Great tool
I got this set for my boyfriend because he likes playing with electrical stuff. There were 13 lessons and my man was addicted after he finished the lessons and couldn’t stop. It’s like his toy 😂

Great kit
Got all the essentials, quality is not bad and they seem to use the same chip as Arduino.Given that it can be hard to come by an Arduino nowadays, especially at a reasonable price, this kit is definitely worth checking out.

The BEST start for people wanting to get into electronics!
This kit is absolutely phenomenal!I bought this in 2022 to get into electronics and it has given me the confidence to make electronic projects of my own. I recommend this kit to EVERYONE who wants to get into Arduino and I think it is especially good for children/teens who are curious. There is also a pretty good guide online that shows how to use all of the components, but it doesn’t teach programming and it is inconsistent in its complexity (sometimes going super in-depth to some components but just scratching the surface with others).I will say that if you buy this I’m 99% sure you will not use every component here, but that is okay! The amount of components you get here is enough to get started and make almost every project. The only thing I would change about this is switching the Arduino UNO with another, smaller microcontroller that is more powerful.
