Orwell seemed disillusioned with the whole Civil War in Spain after fighting on the side of the Communists. Interestingly , he brings up the problem of unemployment and a livable wage.Why did USA,Great Britain and France support Stalin in Spanish Civil war ? Stalin got Spanish gold at least. The court “historians” somehow omit that important question. The media as a tool of propaganda as Orwell observed could well describe the current situation . Not much has changed. “Democracy” was and is a joke. Who benefits from endless wars and unemployment ? Not the ruled , but the ruling.
