I have a thick desktop but it has a bar at the back for a mount and I need to put wood to make it even, but I don’t trust it….But this fixed my concerns. Now it’s solid metal and solid surfaces on top and bottom. Clamps down nicer than it did before by a mile.Really like it, feels sturdy and I recommend it.

There was a worry about the weight of a new monitor stand being set up on the desk, picked these up to support it better. Solid metal, definitely provide a better clamping area for the stand.

I feel much better about the thing with this installed. I have a 3-screen monitor arm with two 32″ and a 27″ on it, so significant weight. I put it on without this product, and yes, it may have been fine. But when I saw this product I decided it would be worth it to tear everything down and re-do it to put this in, and after 15 minutes of labor, I am extremely glad I did. It will protect the desk and stabilize the arm and I’m glad I have it!

We set up a monitor arm on my wife’s Ikea desk, but given the desk’s weak construction, I wanted some additional reinforcement on the table’s edge to keep the monitor steady and the desk safe. These reinforcement plates from Mount-It! are heavy-duty and sturdy. Installing them on the monitor arm’s c-clamp eased my concerns, ensuring the desk can handle the weight of the arm and monitor. It’s a simple and effective way to protect a delicate desk. Highly recommended!

My monitor mount leaves dents on the edges of my table top. I got these to prevent that from happening and to reinforce the area. They work well in both cases.The kit comes with a small and large plate, along with an adhesive-back sheet of rubber so the metal plates don’t slip. Everything feels high quality.After mounting my monitor, I found I didn’t really need the small plate so I used it as a base for two articulated arms (one holds a DSLR and the other holds a light). Now, both arms are more stable and I don’t have to worry about them leaving dents on my wood table top.

I have one of the typical Ikea desks in my gaming space. I was worried my monitor stand would leave indentions and markup the top surface while installing it. I was also worried about over tightening and crushing the desk in. So I picked this up to kind of spread out that pressure. So far it’s been working great. I have the monitor stand tightened down as much as I can get it and the desk is showing no signs of caving in or bending/bowing. Installation is extremely simple. Just stick the foam pads on and lay it down in the spot you want it. Then place your monitor stand over it and tighten everything up!No scratches on the desk, no bending/bowing/warping. Definitely would recommend if you’re worried about your desks top surface.

However, if you plan on stacking multiple monitors, especially larger ones, the plate may need to be larger to accommodate them effectively. One area of concern is the size of the bottom plate (the one in the plastic bag in the picture– it’s tiny), which is relatively small. This raises doubts about its effectiveness in alleviating the pressure exerted by the bottom clamp on the desk surface. A larger plate would likely distribute the pressure more evenly and provide better protection for the desk. Despite this limitation, the metal construction of the reinforcement plate is sturdy and durable, ensuring long-lasting performance. It effectively serves its purpose as a protector for fragile and thin glass tabletops, providing added peace of mind when using monitor arms with clamp or grommet installation. Its compatibility with both clamp and grommet installation methods further enhances its practicality and convenience.

I use this on a glasstop desk and it has held perfectly for months. That’s an A in my book.

Not sure I needed this but it’s better being safe than sorry when you have an expensive desk. It was super easy to install and should provide good protection for the lifetime of the desk.One of the major reasons I chose this over similar products was its smaller than average size. I didn’t want to lose a lot of desk real estate to the part that clamps onto the top of the desk. In my opinion the smaller size should make zero difference to the ability to protect thedesk from heavy awkward monitor loads.One of the two I ordered had paint chipped off the edge but it’s in an area difficult to see so I didn’t return it.
